By participating on one or more of the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce's dynamic committee's, you and your organization will gain increased visibility, network opportunities, and the unique opportunity to positively impact Beaver Counties business and economic development. Standing Committees Executive Committee handles the overall administration, structure, staffing, and documentation (e.g. constitution, mission) that guide the organization. The committee is composed of the board officers and the past president. Nomination Committee reviews and makes recommendations about individuals who are qualified and willing to serve on the board of directors and committees. It ensures that the organization continues to operate smoothly during transitions of the organization’s elected officials. Finance/Investment Committee oversees the treasury of the organization, as well as its financial instruments, budgets, controls and reports. It is charged with providing investment recommendations to the board. Membership Development Committee targets audiences for membership, successfully enrolling new members while retaining current members. The committee will set specific, quantitative goals and deadlines for enrollment and retention. It will regularly review the organization’s membership strategies. Subcommittees:
Marketing and Benefits Committee keeps members and prospects abreast of the organization’s activities. It is responsible for reviewing and updating publications and other communication tools that reach members and prospects. The Committee will monitor existing affinity programs and recommend the adoption of new programs to the board. It coordinates the tangible and intangible benefits that members receive by joining and supporting the organization. Subcommittees:
Government Relations Committee reviews proposed laws and rules and recommends action to the board to support or oppose issues that affect the organization and its members. It assists staff with the development and execution of chamber and public events. Events include:
Also, the committee will regularly survey members and solicit their comments and suggestions on proposed legislation and regulations. The Committee is non-partisan, does not endorse candidates or participate in political action committee activities.
